Planning affects us in many ways. Often we only become aware of issues when they affect our friends or us. Over the last four years Phillip has worked tirelessly to assist residents with panning issues and to achieve resident focused outcomes.

However, Planning takes up a good deal of a councillor’s time. Philip wants a better planning scheme. The planning scheme is administered and controlled by the state government. The problem with it is that it predisposed to intensification and development. Residents in Boroondara place an extremely high value on the built form amenity of our streets. Most residents will at some stage find themselves affected by a development close to them and it is at this point that start to realize that there are major deficiencies in the state planning scheme.

Phillip is not against development. He is against rampant development, inappropriate development and development that takes from its neighbours in order to occur. Cr Healey supports appropriate development outcomes.
