Locals will be interested to read the crime statistics as advised by the VIC Police for region 4, Boroondara. While most categories are in negative growth the "Other Crime" category has increased by 39%, that is over 103 cases for the year 08/09. This was at a time when the Ashburton Police station was still fully manned for most of the period.

The Police association say that Boroondara is 61 Police short. It's high time the John Brumby and Bob Stensholt faced up to the fact the our Police need more resources in our comunities, in the High Street, or in Ashburtons case, Y street.
The problem is political, and the buck stops with Victorian Government.
